To cope with significant population growth, the Gironde department has launched a middle school plan and is dedicating €670 million to it. This middle school plan provides for the construction of 13 new middle schools and the reconstruction of 10 existing middle schools to accommodate an additional 10,000 middle school students by 2025.

With an investment of 33,4 million euros, the Department is launching a rehabilitation project to rebuild the Blanquefort college and make it a high energy performance and low carbon impact establishment (E3C2 level).

The choice of Kerto® LVL quickly became clear to us during the execution studies, as a replacement for OSB panels. We had a very large surface area of ​​panels to install within a tight schedule and during the winter period. We therefore had to optimize lifting times on the one hand and meet deadlines by reducing the use of the tower crane used by the structural work package on the other. We installed 300 m² of panels daily!

We chose Kerto panels because they could also be manufactured in large sizes while respecting the required optimization. We sent a list of parts numbered by roof and zoning, allowing us to organize the storage areas as soon as they were unloaded on site. In addition, the 27 mm Kerto® L panel selected met the required technical specifications, namely a panel forming a "diaphragm" on the roof and supporting a waterproofing system, receiving either a green roof or photovoltaic panels.
